Places to stop in Uzes (even when there's snow--and dog poop--on the sidewalks, so much--snow, not poop--that the garbage truck can't come):
1. "Credit Agricole (un et deux)." Daddy had to get cash and then cash again to pay for Frances's keyboard rental. It was delivered today and Frances is super happy.
2. "Terroir" for lunch. Frances immediately got a job sharpening all the colored pencils in the restaurant--and I mean all of them. Lunch was big and yummy.
3. Patisserie#1. Frances really needed to get a triple-decker sucker, so she bought one...and reserved four more for friends back at home.
4. Patisserie #2. I got a "pyramide," which is basically custard filled pastry balls stacked in a pyramid with powdered sugar and caramel. Frances got a "pain chocolat," chocolate inside pastry dough. Daddy got an espresso..."petit cafe" and tastes of our desserts. Mommy went out and found freshly ground coffee and came back for tastes of our desserts.
5. "Office de Tourisme" where we got a map, a guide book in english and found out where some other important spots in town are: bike rentals and the art store.

6. "Maison des fleurs." We had to buy flowers because we were going to our new neighbor's apartment for dinner (across the medieval hall).
7. Daddy freed a car that was stuck in its icy parking spot.
8. Jean and Allister's. They are from Scotland and they both lived at Hogwarts. Just joking; they are obviously muggles. I really didn't catch much of what they were saying because it was mostly adult talk. During the tour I was pretending to look at the shower but I was really looking at the toilet paper: it's white, not pink like ours! They offered the french version of Pringles, which I enjoyed because I NEVER get Pringles at home.
Tomorrow, this little piggy (me) is going to Market (the open, organic market in the town Place aux Herbes). I'm sure Papa Piggy (Dad) will want to buy some piggy (pork) but Mama piggy (Mom) probably won't let him. Poor Papa Piggy (Dad). But good news for the piggies!
Bye Friendly Piggies (friends and family),
Eleanore

NOW THAT IS FABULOUS.
ReplyDeletevery clever, very very!! like ooh lala!
let's see, piggies, you sound like french children almost. i suppose in another week you will sound like it is definitely your own country.
we are basking in sunshine with temp at 38 degrees. your place or ours!
so, keep up those great pics. and daddy piggy, remember pushing an auto can be considered strenuous. and the rest of you piggies: keep up the french pasteries. i am drooling and will say au revoir... grammy
The "Piggy family" does not need pork to be little oinkers. They can fill their bellies with Piggy Pastries! You are in France! Thing One (Logan) and Thing Two (Cody) will eat plenty of piggy pork for your Dad while he is away. You're welcome :)
ReplyDeleteLogan says it would be great to try some French Piggy Pastries. You could wrap them up and put them in your suitcase in one of your shoes so they won't get squished. Then they will be stinky but tasty :)
Cody is wondering if you have busted out the skis down the snowy sidewalks yet? He says the rails and stairwells would be "sick" to grind!
Logan says: If you don't have your skis you can always bust out the sleds and build a ramp off the roof of Hogwarts! Be careful to not let the muggles see you or you may get reported to Dumbledor and have to clean the Phoenix cage. YUCK!
Way to bring the snow with ya! Glad to hear you are all having fun :)
